A slight adjustment

“The slightest adjustment is all that is needed sometimes.”

Yesterday I finished work late.

Nothing crazy but too late to participate in my usual afternoon activities at home.

This usually gets to me as I take my health and family time very seriously.

Yesterday, it started to get to me, but as I began my drive home I couldn’t help but be immersed in the striking landscape that presented itself.

For the first half an hour of my drive I was surrounded by one of the most vibrant sunsets I have ever seen.

Paddocks of sorghum, drunk with the red glow of the sun and set amongst, what seemed like, the greenest of backdrops.

There was the old, rundown, and forgotten windmills and barns. The ones where the world has moved forward without them and left them stranded in the middle of paddocks, a memory of the past, an eye sore to some for 23 hours a day. But not this hour. This hour they stand as glorious pictures of art that our eyes are lucky to witness.

Was I upset that my afternoon wasn’t going to plan? I sure was.

Was the alternative pretty fucking cool though? It most certainly was.

Sometimes the slightest adjustment makes all the difference.

Sometimes, no matter what is happening internally, we just need to look up and find the good.

It is always there.
