For things to have potential for new growth, they need disruption. As a farmer, soil needs disruption and stimulus to provide more potential for new growth. As a human, our lives need disruption from comfort to provide more potential for new growth. We have to get our hands dirty and turn the soil. Inspired Lion
From here to there
"Instead of being upset when someone makes a point we don't like today, try to really listen to them. Don't think about all the ways they are wrong, take a moment to think about where they think you are wrong. Assume good faith on behalf of the person on the other side of the issue... The power of cold water
I took the chance to jump into a body of natural cold water with a friend of mine yesterday and it's always such a great experience. It is one of my favourite training arenas so I'm always grateful to share the experience with other people. There's a special power in large bodies of water, especially... Continue Reading →
Moments part II
There are so many opportunities each day to positively impact a moment for a fellow human, yet we so rapidly find reasons to not pursue them. Why do we do that? Why do we stifle the generous impulse? Maybe it's because our brains want to keep us safe and reaching into vulnerability seems risky, or... Continue Reading →

Don’t hide your greatness
Pursue your potential. This is one of my favourite calls to action. It's a gentle but firm reminder to not settle for my average, but to reach for my peak. There are thousands of quotes similar to this one, all conveying the same message, but I believe that this message doesn't always get heard right.... Continue Reading →
Compete every play.
I am a social sport tragic and tonight in a mixed netball game, something really stuck out to me - The difference between competing on a play or not. When we compete on a play, we have a higher chance of taking control of the tempo and the outcome. We have a higher chance of... Continue Reading →
Climb the mountain for you
"Climb the mountain not to plant your flag, but to embrace the challenge, enjoy the air and behold the view. Climb the mountain so you can see the world, not so the world can see you." - David McCullough One of my mentors, Scott McGee, once asked me "What do you think your purpose is?"... Continue Reading →
Character First
"Life is short—the fruit of this life is a good character and acts for the common good.” — Marcus Aurelius, Meditations We've been led a stray, down a dark and slippery path. One where there is a warped sense of success. One where we are constantly judged against a criteria of money and career status, when... Continue Reading →
