Compete every play.

I am a social sport tragic and tonight in a mixed netball game, something really stuck out to me – The difference between competing on a play or not.

When we compete on a play, we have a higher chance of taking control of the tempo and the outcome. We have a higher chance of scoring, achieving a positive turn over, or forcing a mistake. When we don’t, we give away our chance of that control and thus, any of the above outcomes.

That sounds a lot like life, either we compete and control the things in our control, or we don’t and we give up our chance.

If we don’t compete on every play, we have no right to a positive result, especially when how hard we compete is completely in our control.
