Character First

“Life is short—the fruit of this life is a good character and acts for the common good.”

— Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

We’ve been led a stray, down a dark and slippery path.

One where there is a warped sense of success.

One where we are constantly judged against a criteria of money and career status, when what we should really be judged against is our character.

Are we a good human?

Do we make people around us better or worse?

Do we improve the communities that we are a part of?

Are we a good partner, parent, child, sibling or friend?

Do we give more than we take?

Do we perform acts for the common good?

These are the questions we should use to judge someone’s success.

We can see the results of a world that’s built on “Money” and “Success” and to be frank, its rather ugly.

We need to rebuild the world on character.
