“What do our shirts mean to us?”
As you may have seen through our social media channels, as well as writing this daily journal, we also design shirts with meaning. I wanted to take a chance here to talk about exactly what these designs mean to us and the reason behind them.
I truly believe that we are the sum of our thoughts and actions. I’m always careful to say there is a right way or a wrong way to live this life as I think that distinction is completely different for everyone but one of the things I do hold a lot of weight in is that we shouldn’t phone life in. We shouldn’t just float along until we die. Right or wrong, that’s what I want to see. More people reaching into their potential and going for a ride that lights up the world.
As I learnt and developed this belief I also realised that in our modern society it’s not quite as accepted to be different or to deviate from the norm. The people that do are usually ones that inherently just “have it” or are in a culture that nurtures the pursuit. It’s not impossible to find for the person in the normal lane but it’s definitely harder. Our mission is to change that.
The apparel is just an extension of our overall goal here at Inspired Lion which is to“spark thoughts that inspire action in the pursuit of your potential.” In other words we want to make that seemingly unnatural pursuit of potential completely natural. Currently our spark comes from content, blogs, and apparel. That’s how I am trying to radiate out the spark.
So when we set out to design each piece, it needs to live up to that standard. It can’t just be a shirt for a shirts sake. It has to really mean something. It has to have a purpose. It has to hit a deep place inside of us when we see it, feel it, and wear it. It has to have the ability to re calibrate an unhelpful thought or to inspire an action that compliments our pursuit. These pieces are our coat of arms, the flag we hoist, our message to the world that says “this is us” when we wear them.
To everyone that has been a part of our recent drops or been a part of Inspired Lion in any way, shape or form over the years, we are so grateful for you. Thank you for buying in to the culture we are trying to build.
This is stolen straight from the legends at Deuce Gym, that I get a lot of inspiration from but
“It’s working. We are doing it, together.”
