Dice’s Corner –
Hey hey everyone.
A lot has changed since I last wrote and I am now the proud father of a gorgeous little girl, Piper, who has enriched my life in a way I never thought possible. She is awesome and Amy has been amazing through it all! It hasn’t been smooth sailing though. Everyone tells you that there will be good and bad days but I think in the back of your head you think “nah my child will be awesome, probably sleep ridiculously good and never cry” well thats what I thought anyway hahaha
Fair to say I couldn’t have been more wrong. The sleep deprivation hit us a bit harder than we thought, feeding has been a constant struggle and there are times where I just stare at her crying in my arms and think “I’ve got no fucking idea what you want or what to do now” so we pass her between us in the hope that in the last few seconds one of us has come up with the miracle cure…….. but nope!
Its way, way harder than we imagined but honestly it’s also so much more amazing as well. Nothing can compare to how beautiful and how in love with her we are no matter what challenges present themselves. It’s easy to take a minute out and just stare at her and it makes everything worthwhile. Luckily for us the good times completely outweigh the bad! We absolutely love her like crazy!

On a fitness note, the biggest challenge has been time management now that I have taken on some more around the house. I had to sit down and have hard look at my goals and how much time I am willing to dedicate to them. I am currently writing a standalone blog about it and what I’m doing to combat it so keep an eye out in the next few days for that.
I recently competed in the online CrossFit Lift Off and had a blast (pun intended). It’s always good to test yourself and see where you are in the scheme of things. I managed to PR both my Snatch (80kgs) and Clean & Jerk (100kgs) which was awesome and thought I had done okay in the workout. The big takeaway I got from the comp was that everyone I finished close to on the leaderboard had a lot smaller lifting numbers than I had but smashed me in the workout. Its good to know I’m getting stronger but equally good to have a weakness pointed out. It has given me priceless feedback going into my next training cycle for the Open. This is why I recommend everyone to compete during the year, it doesn’t matter if you have no interest in winning at all, you will ALWAYS learn something new about yourself and your abilities.
Also coming out soon we will have a running program designed by our good friend and running expert, Dan Symonds. It should be out in the next week so stay tuned for that aspiring runners!
One last thing everyone, we have just revamped our clothing line with some new designs so please pop over and check it out at Shop!!!
Have fun, enjoy life and make time for what counts
Until next time Pride

Quote of the Week –
When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive – to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.

Book/ Audio Book/ Podcast –
I know I talked about it last post but I want to again recommend this book by one of my idols, Chris Moore, who passed away earlier this year and has had his entire published and unpublished writings brought together in one hardcover. It can be found at( http://www.barbellbuddha.com) and I can’t recommend his work enough to anyone who is interested in straight up becoming a better human being!
From the website:
This collected work, a handsomely-produced hardcover of over 500 pages, is a testament to a powerful and meaningful life lived passionately, with integrity and modesty.
It includes all the published and unpublished writing on the subjects of spiritual, mental and physical health, expressed in the characteristic engaging and witty style that Chris became loved for by his countless readers.
It is an inspiration to all who seek to improve their lives and the lives of others.
We believe it will be a classic of its kind, and treasured for years to come.

Amy’s Corner –
Wow. I am a mother. Words can not describe the whirlwind of emotions I not only feel for the cutest little girl in the world, Piper, but I have a new found love for Dice, and seeing him so smitten with the newest member of our family. Despite some challenges in the first week of Piper’s life, things have started to settle down and a slight routine is starting to emerge (on good days). However like Dice says, the main issue that i am confronted with is that of TIME. Babies need to eat, sleep, and get changed. And who else to assist with that bar their loving parents. So I am blessed each day, when Dice gets home from work for “me time”. However, it seems this is usually taken up with general personal hygiene and day to day chores that I can not do with a baby in tow. It appears only occasionally that I have been able to go for a walk or complete a physical activity task. My body is ready, but TIME is not. However I hope to overcome this when both Piper and I settle down into a more solid routine. I did make myself the goal of the Tough Mudder Half (held in May 2017), as my come back event but I may push this forward to the WODSTOCK event in Brisbane in April. At this stage, and in my exhausted state, it feels so unreachable and far away. But in saying that I am not giving up on it. I may have a lot of work to do, but I will get there.
Amy
Also I would like to add that I have a new found respect for all mothers out there in the world. And my hat goes off to any of these mum’s that manage to get straight back into exercise. You are all an inspiration. And on the down low; whats your secret?

Coming Up –
Nothing much coming up in the immediate future but my main focus will be on training specifically for the CrossFit Open for the next 3 months. A part of me wants to complete the Sprint and Super Spartan race at the Gold Coast in early Feb but I don’t think my training for the Open will directly correlate to a longer Spartan Race. I will most likely pick one and do it but not both.
Other than that I have one eye on the Tough Mudder in May and then the WODSTOCK event in April.
I talk a little bit about my programming for the next 3 months in the standalone blog that will be out in the next few days so if thats something you’re interested in then check it out.
That’s it for this week folks.
