Keeping up…

Hey Hey Pride,

Just thought I’d drop a quick message with our recent happenings.

Firstly Amy is putting together a blog post on her feelings both mentally and physically while continuing to workout through the pregnancy. She is doing her best to get it out whilst also being extremely busy in reporting period for school so hopefully it shouldn’t be much longer.

Secondly we achieved another one of our goals in the Pride reboot recently with opening our clothes store. We decided to not add any take on our end so the clothing is as affordable as possible for our customers. Our joy will come from seeing and hearing from people wearing our clothes and spreading the The Pride Active message. If you haven’t already seen it you can follow the link in the Shop tab. We have a good mix of Male, Female and Youth clothing so get at it and tell your friends!!

Other than that our training has been continuing steadily. I received another wrist injury playing touch footy so have modified my programming lately to accommodate for that. With a spartan race coming up it has been a good time to add a bit more running and outdoor/ Mountain sandbag type training to better prepare me and give the wrist some more healing time. I have also been talked into doing the full 96km Kokoda Challenge next year so it won’t be long until I have to have serious think about my programming for such an event. Until then I’ll continue following the CrossFit Weightlifting programming to help increase my numbers for my next crack at the CrossFit Open and other Functional Fitness comps coming up.

If anyone has anything they would like us to write about, find out or just need some encouragement to get started, feel free to shoot us an email or hit us up on social media. You can find our Email and Social Media links in Contact Us

I’ll leave you with this weeks

What’s Stuck.

Some of you may already be into the podcasting world and if you have an interest in Strength and Conditioning then you have probably heard of Barbell Shrugged. I treat them as one of the smartest and most insightful podcasts available for people interested in this field. If you do listen to them then you would already be aware but sadly one of the hosts, Chris Moore, recently passed away. Chris was one of the original founders of Barbell Shrugged and will be extremely missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Chris also had his own podcast named Barbell Buddha that joined strength talk with discussions about philosophy, perspective, inspiration and just being a better human. This man has some of the best values and one of the smartest minds I have ever listened to and I would highly recommend any of his numerous podcasts or blogs to anyone and everyone who wants to better themselves. Listening to him has helped me to want to become a better all-round person and start me on a journey of giving more in life than I receive in an effort to find true joy and happiness. I know this sounds a bit fluffy but have listen and tell me you don’t want to make a change as well.

If you would like to read more from the people who knew him best, the messages from the many people he inspired or how to help his family continue his dream then follow this link,

‘Be humble and relinquish all desires. Instead, give all you have with love and life will surely deliver all its possibilities in abundance.’ Chris Moore 29/12/1980 – 6/6/2016

Anyway that’s enough from me for now. Again keep an eye out for Amy’s post coming up in the near future.

Until next time pride
