Finally….. The first post!!

It feels like this has been forever coming but here it is… the first post.

Welcome to The Pride Active. If you are chasing a more in depth look at us and why we have started this blog then jump across to our ABOUT page and enjoy!

A brief explanation is that Amy and myself decided that this was the year we were going to set ourselves multiple challenges in endurance events and training sessions. We have not kept as fit as we would have liked in our early adult life so this is our way to change that. We decided to start this blog so that along the way we can help to inspire and encourage more people to make the change in their lifestyles as we have done. During our journey we will post training tips, recipes, nutrition advice, event recaps, gear reviews and workouts.

So far this year we have trained for and completed events that we both wouldn’t have dreamed possible only 6 months ago. These events include :

  • Masters Swim Meet (and yes even won some medals!)
  • Bribie Triathlon Series (Sprint Triathlon)
  • Peak 2 Park 10km charity run, Toowoomba
  • Spartan Race Sprint, Brisbane (7km 21 Obstacles)
  • The inaugural Toowoomba Mud, Sweat and Fears (10km 19 Obstacles
  • True Grit Mt Tamborine (11km 30+ Obstacles)

and the countless training sessions leading up to each of these events!

  • Bridge to Brisbane Run 10km
  • Stampede Obstacle Race 10km
  • Raw Challenge 8km
  • Brisbane to Gold Coast Cycle 108km
  • The Great Cycle Challenge October
  • True Grit Night Attack

plus anymore we feel like adding in between.

Currently the majority of our training is based on The Complete Obstacle Conditioning Program from True Grit Australia (The program can be purchased here http://www.obstacleconditioning.com.au/ for anyone interested in it!) All the while trying to keep our cycling fitness up over the cold months to be ready for the Brisbane to Gold Coast ride.
